THE WICZY THEATRE
has existed since the 11th. of November 1991 and has been created by Romuald Wicza- Pokojski in Brodnica.
Currently the theatre office's in Toruń.
The idea of work in the company is based on a various theatre- research...
Basically THE WICZY THEATRE is guided by the objectives of a laboratory- theatre.

The theatre bases its work on:
-hard movement
-image synthesis
-abridged words

The Graduate of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw, the faculty of the Theatre Theory

About the theatre:
Romuald Wicza- Pokojski, the leader of the Wiczy Theatre from Brodnica gives his voice on behalf of young generation:

" our theatre- work is the expression of our lives, the lives of other young people, and the world we inhabit (...). Our problems, complexes, failures "create" our protagonists, both on stage and in our everyday existence (...). The theatre is today searching, touching, analysing, and asking questions.". Wicza raises the aesthetic issues, as well. "Image synthetic, hard movement and abridged words- these are the means of expression that are used for creation of the place of action, the virtual unit of time (...)".
These are the images of the "poor theatre" present in the plays of this young director (...)."

The Wiczy Theatre has had 19 performances done and presented until now.
They were out- door and in- door presentations as well as happenings. Some of those  plays received wide recognition among the public and the critics; these are:
Dwórko (1992), Siechce (1994), Krzesłościan (1994)
(for children), Sarkazja (1996), A Season in Hell (1999) and
Krakersy (2000), Congres (2001), Czyściciel dywanów (2002), Po prostu (As simple as that) (2003),The Emigrants(2004),The Emperor(2005),Instant(2006),Writers&Waiters(2006)

The theatre has played so far in:
